I think exploration is a great idea. I tend to be focused only on creating perfect paintings all the time and sometimes that pressure gets to be too much and then failure follows. Its important to let your brain switch gears, to try other things, which are very likely to inspire your favorite calling, or give you the push you need to find a new love.A Painter's Journalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08520775774106380886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-166748206017020972.post-49766368700491657712010-12-11T20:46:27.873-08:002010-12-11T20:46:27.873-08:00These are lovely. Trying out different media actually helps me come up with ideas for my enameling. I think mixed media might actually give you some ideas for relief work in your favored media as well, you never know. I hope you post your experiments here, looking forward to them :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01850064778384160632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-166748206017020972.post-79995874188318155022010-10-22T13:24:21.514-07:002010-10-22T13:24:21.514-07:00I think exploring other media is a great idea. But, I do think in my case that experimentation helped me create a unique approach to mixed media and helped me define my style.

It can be important to follow different paths if you have diverse interests. If you really KNOW you are a pastel artist or oil painter--go for it! Then, you are right, you'll master your chosen medium sooner.Elizabeth Seaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08733386945501359383noreply@blogger.com
