I DID IT!!!

I finally painted! I know there are a million things wrong with this little painting. And I made the classic beginner plein-air painter mistake of painting in the sun without an umbrella, which threw off all of my values. But none of that matters. The point is that I made a commitment to paint today, and I did it! And I was with my friend Ray, which made it even better!! Please join me next Saturday if you can.

  1. Good for you!!! It is so hard to take that first step and afterwards one wonders why it was so hard. I like the blue flowers. Honor

  4. Thanks so much to all of you for all your support and encouragement. I'm not sure I'd be back on track if it weren't for all of you cheerleaders encouraging me. Thank you!

  5. I too find it helpful to have a plein air painting buddy. First just for the fact she helps get me out of my studio, Second for the safety in numbers and third for the critique time we share as we paint together.

  7. Jennifer- Can you create larger photos of Mcphersons demo. It's hard to see what he is doing. The first photo comes up large but the others are small. Thanks Sir Lawrence.

  8. Go Jennifer! A lot of courage to make the first date with paint. When I used to race tandem mountain bikes, my partner would say that 90% of racing was getting to the start line. I think so in art too.

    Good, good, good.
